Chapter 9 - 'Guruvayur'

I was on my first trip to Kerala. I thought if I had some extra time, I would visit the 'Guruvayur Temple'. Luckily, I got some extra hours, and I went to the 'Guruvayur Temple'.

There was a long queue. Because I had limited time, I purchased a VIP darshan ticket. After purchasing the ticket, I sat down near the wall.

Suddenly, a man came to me. I didn't know who he was. He asked me to take a snan (bath) at the temple pond. As it was an unplanned trip, I was not carrying extra clothes. As per the ritual, one should take a bath before darshan in the temple.

I refused because I was not carrying an extra pair of clothes. He insisted again. I thought to at least wash my face. So, I agreed finally. We both went towards the pond.

We both reached the pond. I stepped down into the pond. I splashed water on my face. I turned back. That man had disappeared.

I felt like he was an Angel of God who helped me to have a proper darshan as per tradition.
